I am PASSIONATE that self-healing, self-education and self-empowerment is the most important step towards post-traumatic growth and our best health and wellbeing. I am dedicated to teaching you not only how to understand your inner world better, but how to literally take your own wellbeing INTO YOUR OWN HANDS. It's all about being able to face, rather than fight, flight or freeze where we have got stuck in dysfunctional patterns and where our health gets progressively worse. It's about knowing how to resolve, dissolve and free ourselves from inner blocks, self-destruction and self-limiting beliefs and actions. I'm not saying that professionals and expert input aren't important and helpful, but that we could fix a lot of the 'glitches' in our wellbeing matrix ourselves and alongside professional help.
I've had my own interesting journey of post-traumatic growth and experience of losing touch with my own, inner wellbeing expert. After a fairly traumatising childhood with an alcoholic dad I've been on a mission to find something that could help me turn these experiences into strength, potential and opportunity, rather than leaving me feeling 'damaged' for life. I've tried different talking therapies, medication and have studied psychology and mental health for over 25 years now. I made it my career and have delivered global mental health training, mental health early intervention and mental health leadership programs to 1000s of people all over the world.
But most of this training is still not emphasising and teaching us SELF-HEALING enough. Even trauma-informed mental health professionals often explain mental health distress by initially falling 'victim' to trauma, then becoming 'victims' of our nervous system and developing mental illnesses that require professional intervention. This is becoming an increasing problem worldwide as most of us can't access this professional support readily and as often as we would need. And there are so many things we could actually do to re-program our nervous system ourselves.
That's why I founded 'Innergised', a movement of wellbeing empowerment for everyone. What helped me most in the end after trying so many different approaches was actually reading some highly specialised books on my experience growing up with an alcoholic dad. I learned about the unbearable pain he must have been going through and how to find acceptance for the past and forgiveness for him, This in turn helped me develop emotional freedom and post-traumatic growth.What helped me even more to heal is energy psychology and effective self-healing strategies that aren't widely known yet. Yet these practices would be so needed considering the gaps in most health care systems around the world. In 2017 I discovered EFT and learned about the 4th wave of psychotherapy where we treat psychological problems by working with energy fields and removing trauma blocks. This might sound a bit 'out there' to you, but everyone and everything is energy essentially. If you need reassurance - it's now a clinically approved intervention in the UK, USA and other countries that many psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists and health professionals are now qualifying in. And it's based on more than 5000 years practice-based evidence, so not all that new at all!! It's safe, non-invasive, fully inclusive and has no side effects. Much in contrast with other interventions, but that's a whole other story for another day! What might surprise you and is actually the best thing: you can learn these techniques and strategies through self-study and get started straight away. You don't even need to believe in it for it to work. I've managed to overcome major trauma responses with these practices and live now a life of emotional freedom and happiness beyond my wildest dreams.
What means so much to me is as well that not only have a managed to break the trauma-cycle in my own family and for our three children. But they are growing up with a powerful skill set and knowledge of these techniques that set them up perfectly for life success and dealing effectively with the most stressful life events that are inevitable for us humans (unfortunately).
Once you master these practices, you can easily teach them to others too.
